Bhattacharya Lab publishes latest research in Small led by graduate student Ivan Isaac, entitled ”Endogenous Corticosteroid Derived Lipid Nanoparticles (Cortico LNPs) Enable Selective mRNA Delivery to the Spleen

In this study, we introduce a new class of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), endogenous corticosteroid-derived LNPs (cortico-LNPs), in which the cholesterol component is replaced with endogenous corticosteroids, resulting in redirection from the liver to the spleen.

In this article, we introduce a novel, facile, catalyst-free, and versatile one-pot multicomponent reaction (MCR) to develop a library of ionizable lipids featuring a pharmacologically significant tetrahydropyrimidine (THP) backbone, tailored for enhanced mRNA delivery.

Chandra receives Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Postdoctoral Fellowship for her work on the development of glucose-responsive material for smart insulin. These systems would respond quickly to elevations in blood glucose, deliver an appropriate amount of insulin, and terminate delivery once normoglycemia is restored.
